THE LEGAL-SAVVY ESCORT*

Anonymous: Um, Can you tell me more about the amount of reading that law students have to complete? I'm curious as to why people rant a lot about it..

Nothing I say will fully encapsulate this experience.

  • Law students get assigned unreasonable amounts to read.
  • Not only is there A LOT to read, it’s also very boring and confusing.
  • The entire process of reading and studying means long hours by yourself. It’s very lonely.
  • When you finally understand a topic and want to celebrate it, you remember you have another 100 pages to read.
  • Buying the books that you need to read is expensive.
  • Reading off a screen hurts your eyes after 100 pages.
  • Carrying the books around to class will give you scoliosis.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

A: torts readings tonight… 50 pages.
B: yup
A: ;__;
B: exactly the same reaction
A: i’m sure it’s foreseeable to the lecturer that 50 pages is unreasonable
B: is it? especially considering it’s law school and it’s reasonably foreseeable that law students have no social life
